Outside of Phil Jackson, Pat Riley and Gregg Popovich are the only other NBA big wigs that have enough clout to make statements with cryptic digs attached to them. However, in the case of Riles and Pop, those two NBA legends have actually won something during this new decade where the NBA has continued to evolve like nothing the Association has previously seen in their rich history. Not so much for Big Chief Triangle.

At any rate, the Zen Master — are we still calling him that these days? — decided to call out his newly revamped Knicks squad he put together. And for the third straight year, there is plenty of turnover on the roster. You know, because sooner or later Phillip is going to get it right! Hey, at least he hasn’t giving away draft picks like previous Knick regimes.

Back to the point.

In calling out his Knicks roster to accept the challenge of change and unite, he went against the status quo that a particular group of superstar players have embraced over the years. And that would be the bonding and friends element that superstars LeBron James and Kevin Durant have alluded frequently to over the years.

Thatta boy Phillip!

Nothing like an inspiring speech in the middle of July to fire up a Knicks squad that might all be injured by the time the first game of the 2016-17 season takes place!

On the bright side, at least Knicks fans get to see the progression of phenom Kristaps Porzingis
